San Francisco Slow Streets Pilot

In December 2022, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board approved a permanent Slow Streets program with target vehicle volumes and speeds for all Slow Streets. KidSafe SF and the San Francisco Parks Alliance have partnered to bring 50 Telraam S2 sensors to San Francisco. In this pilot program, we aim to accurately report on volumes and speeds of all activity – cars, bikes, pedestrians, buses, trucks – on and around Slow Streets.

San Francisco Parks Alliance and KidSafe SF will cover the cost of the 50 sensors and the first 12 months of the Telraam subscription service for participating hosts. We will share this traffic counting data with SFMTA and with the community by making the data available via public API and visualizations.
